Over 16 people has been killed in a market explosion in Maduiguri yesterday. the explosion was reported to be triggered by a girl suicide bomber who may have been as young as 10 years old. Borno State police spokesman Gideon Jubrin said that the girl suicide bomber let off an improvised explosive device near the area of the market where chickens were sold. Although no group has come to openly take responsibility for the attack, it is believed to be boko haram. The blast happened at about 12:40 pm.
