Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, who was one of the 10 persons from around the world, who was honored by the Swedish queen, Silvia Renate and awarded a Swedish C-10 award worth over $10,000, has donated this to support the course of the Chibok girls and help to cushion the suffering of the families of the abducted girls when they are rescued. Revealing this at the #BringBackOurGirls sit-out yesterday, the chairman of Chibok community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea-Abana urged for a standing ovation in honour of the former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili for this kind gesture and confirmed the receipt of the funds.
In his words, he said,'' the funds, which has been paid into the account opened for the rehabilitation of the Chibok girls, as part of the community and the BBOG plan for the future of the abducted girls. I can confirm that this money has entered the designed account. We had about N1.1 million donated by people to assist in rehabilitating these girls when they are returned. I am also appealing to Nigerians to donate to the course of rebuilding the schools in Chibok as some of these schools have been destroyed when the Boko Haram attacked the area. I urge everyone of you to pray for this nation. The nation needs more prayers. We should stand and demand but moreover, we should pray. May God help the nation”
