One Stella Achebe, a Lagos businesswoman and legal practitioner was brought before Justice S. S. Ogunsanya of a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on a one-count charge bordering on issuance of a dud cheque by the EFCC.
According to the head of media and publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, “Achebe allegedly issued a Diamond Bank cheque for the sum of N2 million only), in favour of one Daniel Ebinoh of Leinadibanie Nigeria Ltd, but was dishonoured on the ground of insufficient funds.”
After listening to the submissions of counsel, Justice Ogunsanya granted her bail in the sum of N1million and two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must be her relative, the other must have a landed property in Lagos and both gainfully employed.Justice Ogunsanya subsequently adjourned the case till February 20, 2015.
